Graham-White Further Expands Market on African Continent:
(CENTURION and MONTAGU, SOUTH AFRICA, April, 2009) — Do the letters “GW” stand for Giraffes and Wildebeast? “That could be a logical conclusion,” says a smiling Stewart Bruce, vice president of marketing and sales for Graham-White worldwide, “since our global market expansion includes South Africa with all of its natural wonders and wildlife.”
Stewart Bruce states, “There is also another reason to smile. Graham-White is pleased to report that its new exclusive partner in South Africa is Vanrail Supplies (Pty) Ltd.” He reiterates, “We are proud to partner with such a reputable company in this well established ‘heavy-haul’ market.”
Vanrail has seventeen years experience in supplying the SA railway industry with a wide range of mechanical and pneumatic products. Vanrail director and part owner, Stuart Scott, states, “We bring to the table South African rail market expertise and local engineering knowledge. This ‘trackside’ presence is a huge factor assuring that existing customers and those new to Graham-White products, will receive the best technical and aftermarket support available anywhere on the continent.”
Stewart Bruce explains, “In light of this joint association, Graham-White looks forward to becoming, in South Africa, the same successful brand it is in North America.”
After attending a recent tradeshow in South Africa, Stewart Bruce exclaims, “If the interest generated about our products and services at the latest Railways and Harbours show held in Cape Town is any indication, we are on solid ground with Vanrail representing GW in this growing market. The response was most encouraging even though this was our first time ever showing in Africa. We are all pleased with the number of opportunities presented there… especially in the midst of this global economic crisis.”
“Graham-White continues to strategically press the expansion envelope worldwide,” says Stewart Bruce. “One of our key objectives has been the African continent with its globally important mining railways. Now, Vanrail will provide the technical expertise to ensure that GW products are acclimated properly to the African railway market. What ‘works’ in the USA does not necessarily ‘fit’ in Africa.”
He continues, “Graham-White needed someone there that knows ‘the ins and outs’ of doing business locally and we have found that in Vanrail. They are great individuals that work smart as a team and have strong leadership. We are grateful for their confidence in us to timely deliver our superior heavy rail products in South Africa.”
